Whenever I passed by this beautiful looking shop in Rue Charlot it was closed - and I passed there a lot of times... I just discovered that there´s also one of my beloved blue doors in this photo (although I took this photo before I fell in love with the blue doors of Paris). Another funny thing that I discovered right now: if you search the address of the shop on google maps the streetview shows a nearly identic view of the shop window.
The equestrian monument in the center of the Place des Victoires is to King Louis XIV, it commemorates the Treaties of Peace of Nijmegen which ended the Franco-Dutch War (1672-1678).
The gorgeous restaurant at the Musée d´Orsay was originally opened in 1900 when the museum was still a railway station. I celebrated my birthday here 4 years ago.
One of my favourite places in Paris is the Centre Pompidou, more precisely the Musée d´Art Moderne. My favourite time to enjoy the beautiful artworks is Sunday evening, especially if it´s the first Sunday of the month when the admission is free.
This statue can be found in front of the École des Beaux Arts (School of Fine Arts). Some event was prepared, that´s why the statue was illuminated with changing lights.
In November 2009 I wanted to take my first breakfast in Paris at "Ma Bourgogne" on Place des Vosges. It took me three attempts until I finally got a free table..., I enjoyed my breakfast all the more! (And altough I know that the outside heaters are not good for the environment, I love to sit underneath one of them.)
I spotted this face on a building in Rue des Minimes in the Marais. The next time I will be in Paris I will certainly keep my eyes peeled for more of this kind of street art.
I discovered this sofa at Merci, a concept store on Boulevard Beaumarchais, on a grey day last november. I wouldn´t put it in my apartment, but together with the flowers on the table it definitely lit up my day.
I love the shop windows in Paris! Last summer I took a ride on a Vélib at dead of night just to admire the shop windows in Avenue Montaigne (One of my best ideas during this stay, I´m dying to repeat this "excursion").
I don´t know how many times I already passed by the Louvre´s glass pyramid, designed by the Chinese American architect I.M. Pei, but I think I will never get tired of this sight.
Near the hotel in the 11th arrondissement where I stayed in November 2010 (and in November 2009 and in September 2007) there are a lot of scooter shops and garages.
One of my New Year´s resolutions is to describe the photos in this blog... So, here you go: I discovered these letters in the window of "Lafayette Maison" on Boulevard Haussmann.
