traditional Christmas dessert in France. During Christmas time you can see them in different sizes and sometimes even with the most fancy decorations in every boulangerie/pâtisserie.

Sweet Paris #11
Today is "Jour du Macaraon" (Macaron Day) in France, an annual celebration of the delicate meringue-based confections. Pierre Hermé, who launched this event in 2005, will be offering free macarons (4 per capita) in his Paris stores as will other participating members of the Relais Desserts association (Sadahru Aoki, Laurent Duchêne, Jean-Paul Hévin and Arnaud Larher). What a pity that I´m not able to participate in this day!!!
