Au Nom de la Rose

The flower shops "Au nom de la rose" are specialized in everything roses. Not only do they have a spectacular selection of roses, they also offer a product line of other rose products, including jam, lollipops, chocolates with crystalized roses, perfume, candles, room spray, and rose flavored syrup.

Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon

The Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée (PLM) was a French railway company. Created between 1858 and 1862 the PLM operated chiefly in the south-east of France, with a main line which connected Paris to the Côte d'Azur by way of Dijon, Lyon, and Marseille. The company was also the operator of railways in Algeria. Several of their draughtsman went on to notable careers, including Alfred Grévin. Absorbed in 1938 into the majority state-owned Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français, the PLM's network became the south-eastern region of SNCF. The PLM domicile in Paris is loctated in Rue Saint-Lazare.

Rue de Vienne

As I´m native of Vienna, I just had to take a photograph of this street sign. The Rue de Vienne starts at the Place Bergson and ends at the Place de l'Europe. It was created in 1826, but construction acitivity started only in 1832.

Le Bristol

The 5 star luxury hotel Le Bristol opened in April 1925 when Paris attracted all the big names from the worlds of culture and fashion: Marcel Rochas, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Chanel, Schiaparelli, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Salvador Dali... From 1940 to 1945 Le Bristol became residence to the American embassy and American nationals.

Dalida

Dalida (1933 - 1987), born with the Italian name Lolanda Cristina Gigliotti, was a famous singer and actress born in Egypt to Italian parents but naturalised French with the name Yolanda Gigliotti. Dalida performed and recorded in more than 10 languages including: French, Arabic, Italian, Greek, German, English, Japanese, Hebrew, Dutch and Spanish. A 30-year career (she debuted in 1956 and recorded her last album in 1986, a few months before her death) and her death led to an iconic image as a tragic diva and renowned singer. In 1997 Paris the Place Dalida was inaugurated in the Butte Montmartre, and this bust in her memory was erected.
